Gyeongnam Province and Cities/Counties Hold Emergency Video Conference
Yangsan City Shares Promotion Measures as City/County Representative
On December 14, following the passage of the presidential impeachment motion in the National Assembly, an emergency video conference was held at 5:30 PM, chaired by the Governor of Gyeongnam Province, with the heads of 18 cities and counties.
Governor Park Wan-su conveyed measures for stabilizing people’s livelihoods and cooperation following the approval of the impeachment motion, emphasizing the difficulties faced by local small business owners and self-employed individuals, and urged active cooperation from cities and counties to stimulate domestic demand and promote consumption.
He also stressed thorough preparation for the rapid execution of the 2025 budget to revive the local economy, the implementation of safety measures to prevent incidents and accidents during the winter season, and the establishment of a swift on-site response system.
In particular, during the video conference, Yangsan City shared its action plans as a representative of cities and counties along with Gimhae City and Geochang County.
Mayor Na Dong-yeon of Yangsan City stated, “As the difficulties in the local livelihood economy are intensifying due to the domestic economic downturn, we plan to proceed with originally scheduled events, festivals, and various year-end gatherings normally in all departments to help recover the local economy and boost consumption.” He added, “Please focus on stabilizing people’s livelihoods and revitalizing the local economy, centered on the Livelihood Stabilization Response TF team, which is promoting support for the local economy, vulnerable groups, disaster safety, and other livelihood stabilization efforts.”
