For Elementary, Middle, and High School Students Living in Wirye-dong... In-Person Consultations Held Every Third Wednesday of the Month
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced on the 12th that Wirye-dong and Samkwang Partners Law Office have signed a business agreement to support free legal consultations for school violence.
Starting next year, free legal consultation for school violence will be provided at the Wirye-dong Community Service Center.
Wirye-dong is the area with the highest population of children and adolescents in Seoul. The district is promoting "Free Legal Consultation for School Violence" as part of the Children and Youth Guidance Committee project to support the healthy growth of all children and adolescents in Wirye-dong.
This agreement was initiated by Son Seung-joo and Bae In-cheol, representatives of Samkwang Partners Law Office, and Kang Min-jung, head of the social contribution team. Lawyer Bae In-cheol and Head Kang Min-jung currently reside in Wirye-dong and actively serve as members of the Children and Youth Guidance Committee.
At the business agreement ceremony held on the 12th, Son Seung-joo and Bae In-cheol, representatives of Samkwang Partners, stated, "We will do our best to resolve school violence so that students can enjoy their school life happily during the precious school years that come only once in a lifetime."
The "Free Legal Consultation for School Violence" will begin in January 2025. It targets elementary to high school students residing in Wirye-dong and will be conducted face-to-face every third Wednesday of the month from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. There will be no limit on the number of consultations provided.
Additionally, in urgent cases or when visiting is difficult, telephone consultations will be available outside the designated dates and times.
Applications can be made by the parents of eligible students by visiting the Wirye-dong Community Service Center and filling out an application form and a consent form for personal information provision. Afterward, the community center will refer the case to Samkwang Partners, allowing the applicant to receive free legal consultation.
The district conducts face-to-face education and campaigns for school violence prevention targeting all elementary and middle schools in the area, and works in connection with the Songpa-gu School Violence Prevention Center to create a safe school culture.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "This free legal consultation support project for school violence will be a great help to students and parents who are experiencing difficulties in school life," adding, "Furthermore, we will discover and expand various policies to prevent school violence, which has become a serious social issue, to support the healthy growth of all children."
