Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo expressed his "regret" on the 14th regarding the passage of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol. On the same day, Mayor Hong posted on his social media (SNS), "I am deeply sorry to the people as we face another suspension of the constitutional order. However, the real battle starts now."

He added, "The party leadership, which failed to properly respond to the emergency martial law situation caused by the opposition party's oppressive parliamentary operations, should resign en masse if they have any conscience."

He also stated, "I am deeply dismayed by Han Dong-hoon, who failed to control the 12 votes that switched to approval and acted as Lee Jae-myung's second unit, and the Lemmings (migratory rodents with a tendency for mass suicide) rebellion," adding, "Those 12 votes can be roughly guessed in the political circle. Proportional representatives can be made invisible, but the district members should be expelled."

Mayor Hong said, "If there are 90 (members of the National Assembly), we can overcome the impeachment crisis," and urged, "Floor leader Kwon Seong-dong should first organize the party and respond to the impeachment crisis with one mind."
