Opening of Senior Center and Village Hall in Jang 1-tong, Seoknam-dong, Seosan City

On the 13th, Seosan City in Chungnam held an opening ceremony for the Jang 1-tong Senior Center (Village Hall) located at 20 Jangdong 1-gil, Seosan.

The event was attended by Lee Wan-seop, Mayor of Seosan, Cho Dong-sik, Chairman of the Seosan City Council, Seosan city council members, leaders of Seoknam-dong social organizations, and about 100 local residents, who celebrated the opening of the Jang 1-tong Senior Center.

According to the city, the previous senior center was built in 1992, and its aging structure and limited space caused inconvenience for residents using the facility.

To enhance leisure and welfare for local residents, the city began selecting a construction site for the new Jang 1-tong Senior Center in March last year and invested a total project cost of approximately 380 million won to build the new center.

The newly constructed Jang 1-tong Senior Center has a site area of 827 square meters and a building area of 137.57 square meters (42 pyeong), and is equipped with a living room, kitchen, multipurpose room, two rooms, and two restrooms.

An Jindu, President of the Jang 1-tong Senior Citizens' Association, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank Mayor Lee Wan-seop and all Seosan City officials for their generous support in providing a comfortable space for residents."

Song Geunmin, Head of Jang 1-tong, stated, "I will do my best to create a village where residents can communicate and harmonize with each other in the splendidly built new senior center."

Lee Wan-seop, Mayor of Seosan, said, "I congratulate all citizens on the opening of the Jang 1-tong Senior Center," and added, "I hope the new senior center will serve not only as a resting place for seniors but also as a venue for unity among local residents."
