Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, stated on the 12th (local time) that with the official enactment of the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty" (North Korea-Russia Treaty) signed with North Korea, the United States and its allies must consider the destructive consequences that would arise if they attack Russia and North Korea.

Russian news agency TASS reported that Deputy Minister Galuzin made these remarks at a commemorative banquet for the enactment of the North Korea-Russia Treaty held at the North Korean Embassy in Moscow. The banquet was attended by Alexander Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defense, Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources, Shin Hong-chol, North Korean Ambassador to Russia, and embassy staff.

Deputy Minister Galuzin said, "We are confident that the new treaty will help maintain strategic stability not only on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia but also worldwide," and warned, "The United States and its allies must now consider the destructive consequences that could occur if they attack either of our two countries."

Deputy Minister of Defense Fomin also stated that this treaty "will contribute to easing tensions in the Northeast Asian region, maintaining the regional balance of power, and serve as a foundation for realizing the vision of establishing a new Eurasian security system."

Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources and Chairman of the Russian side of the "North Korea-Russia Trade, Economic, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation Committee," said, "Russia is fully committed to developing practical cooperation in line with the interests of the peoples of both countries," and added, "Cooperation issues between the two countries will yield tangible results."

On the 10th, the Russian Embassy in North Korea, headed by Ambassador Alexander Matsegora, also held a banquet to celebrate the ratification of this treaty. The banquet was attended by top North Korean officials including Choe Ryong-hae, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, Ri Il-hwan, Secretary of the Workers' Party, Choe Son-hui, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Director of the Workers' Party.

Meanwhile, on June 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-un signed the North Korea-Russia Treaty in Pyongyang. The treaty officially came into effect on the 4th, about six months after its signing. The treaty includes provisions that if one country is subjected to armed aggression, the other will provide military support, effectively restoring a military alliance.
