Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has enhanced safety by installing LED signs displaying road name addresses at 37 public restrooms.

The newly installed light-emitting diode (LED) signs serve as safety facilities that illuminate darkness at night. Equipped with security light functions, they help prevent crime and also improve the urban landscape.

Gwangjin-gu promoted this project to alleviate residents' anxiety with the goal of creating “Safe Public Restrooms.”

In particular, each restroom was assigned a road name address to provide accurate location information. The signs feature eye-catching colors for visibility and a clean design to establish a hygienic image.

Additionally, a QR code capable of requesting emergency rescue was embedded. By accessing the QR code attached to the public restroom sign or partition, users receive detailed address information.

At the same time, a report message indicating the current location is automatically generated, enabling rapid transmission of emergency situations to 119 and 112.

Furthermore, closed-circuit television (CCTV) is operating at all public restroom entrances. Emergency bells are also installed, allowing on-site response requests in urgent situations.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “Since public restrooms used by unspecified many people carry a high risk of safety accidents, thorough countermeasures are necessary,” and added, “We will establish a more comprehensive protection network to create a convenient environment where anyone can use them with peace of mind.”
