On the 13th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has been selected as an 'Excellent City/County' for three consecutive years in the lifelong education performance evaluation conducted among 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do.
The county received high praise for operating the 'Damyang Humanities Literacy Class,' which helps the elderly avoid social exclusion in daily life, and the 'Environmental Change Education Expert Course,' a program for training environmental education specialists.
In addition, Damyang-gun operates various lifelong education programs. The programs currently in operation can be found in the lifelong learning information section on the Damyang-gun website. The county also runs the Happy Learning Center, which serves as a foundation for self-directed lifelong learning, and supports lifelong learning clubs. Furthermore, it provides funding for projects such as the 'Elementary Literacy Recognition Class' and lifelong learning programs at the Damyang Library under the Jeollanam-do Office of Education.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no stated, "Being selected as an excellent city/county for three consecutive years means advancing toward a happy Damyang-gun where anyone can be happy anytime through lifelong education, and we will actively promote these projects."
