The ‘National Mind Investment Support Project’ is a program that provides professional psychological counseling services to citizens experiencing emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety, and it has been implemented since July this year.

This evaluation was conducted on 229 cities, counties, and districts nationwide based on three indicators and eight items: △ project operation (service application rate, low-income participation rate, number of registered providers and personnel) △ budget input performance (budget execution rate, service utilization rate) △ operation of dedicated project organizations.

As of the end of November, Yangju City registered and operated four providers and provided vouchers to 271 citizens, achieving excellent results in this evaluation and being selected as an excellent local government. Through this, the city received the Minister of Health and Welfare’s Commendation and a prize money of 5 million won at the event.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City stated, “Taking this selection as an excellent local government as an opportunity, we will do our best to ensure that Yangju citizens experiencing depression and anxiety can receive professional psychological counseling services early, and we will strive to make citizens’ minds healthier through the National Mind Investment Support Project.”

Meanwhile, Yangju citizens experiencing emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety can apply for services by obtaining a referral form from the Mental Health Welfare Center, Wee Center/Wee Class, or a diagnosis or opinion letter from a psychiatric medical institution and submitting it to the administrative welfare center of their jurisdictional eup, myeon, or dong, or through the Bokjiro system.
