The Joint Investigation Headquarters (Gongjobon) announced on the 12th that it held a working-level meeting with the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (Gongsucho), and the Ministry of National Defense Investigation Headquarters to prevent overlapping investigations and ensure swift investigations.

At the working-level meeting held at 3 p.m. at the Seodaemun National Investigation Headquarters building, Gongjobon discussed matters requiring mutual cooperation and agreed to operate liaison officers to ensure organic cooperation between agencies.
Gongjobon was launched to maximize the strengths of each agency, including the investigative experience and capabilities of the National Investigation Headquarters, the legal expertise and warrant request authority of Gongsucho, and the military expertise of the Ministry of National Defense Investigation Headquarters.
A police official stated, “The National Investigation Headquarters will conduct a swift and thorough investigation regardless of rank or status to leave no suspicion and uncover the truth.”
