The Development Restriction Zone Resident Support Project, which is promoted to improve the living convenience and welfare of residents within the development restriction zone, is a project supported annually by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport since 2001 under the “Special Measures Act on the Designation and Management of Development Restriction Zones.” It aims to enhance residents’ quality of life and revitalize the local economy by expanding living infrastructure within the development restriction zone.

The selected project this time falls under the living convenience category and involves improving water control facilities (such as drainage channels) for residents of Buldang-ri, who face frequent summer flood damage within the development restriction zone, causing significant difficulties in agricultural management. The city has continuously secured national funding every year to promote various convenience projects.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, “Receiving national funding for various projects within the development restriction zone will greatly contribute not only to resolving residents’ inconveniences and increasing agricultural productivity but also to the efficient operation of the city budget.” He added, “We will continue to communicate regularly with residents within the development restriction zone and actively discover various support projects to provide practical assistance to residents suffering from overlapping regulations.”
