On the 12th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held a year-end event at the Disabled Sports Center, hosted by the Gumi City Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled and the Sports Center, with about 500 participants including volunteers, sponsors, and activity supporters.

This event was organized to encourage the efforts of volunteers, sponsors, and activity supporters who contributed to the promotion of welfare for the disabled, and to realize an inclusive local community where people with disabilities and local residents coexist.

During the event, awards were presented to those who made significant contributions to the promotion of welfare for the disabled, and there was also a time to share achievements through a video showcasing the main activities of the welfare center and sports center throughout the year. Participants reflected on each other's efforts and united in their intention to spread a culture of sharing within the local community.

Director Kim Hyujin said, “I sincerely thank the volunteers and sponsors who spared no time and effort for neighbors in need and the local community,” adding, “These warm hearts coming together will serve as an opportunity to bring about positive changes for individuals and society.”

Mayor Kim Jangho emphasized, “Next year, we will focus administrative efforts on improving welfare infrastructure such as constructing a new short-term residential facility for the disabled and renovating the sports center stadium, expanding care for the disabled, and creating a Gumi-style barrier-free city,” and added, “We will build a warm local community where people with and without disabilities live together harmoniously.”
