Actor Jeong Young-joo Criticizes President Yoon's National Address
On the 12th, President Yoon Suk-yeol stated in his 4th national address that the declaration of martial law was inevitable due to the tyranny of the major opposition party, prompting actress Jung Young-joo to express her anger.
On the 12th, Jung Young-joo posted on her social media (SNS) a photo certifying that she watched President Yoon's national address broadcast, along with the comment, "Amazing! Re!al!ly! Incredible!!!" accompanied by a bitter laugh.
At 9:42 a.m. that day, President Yoon pointed out the political offensives of the opposition party during his national address and made remarks implying the necessity of martial law. He claimed, "In response to the legislative violence carried out by the majority and the major opposition party's parliamentary dictatorship, which is solely obsessed with self-protection, we tried to protect the freedom democracy and constitutional order of the Republic of Korea."
He added, "How could the constitutional decision and governing act made by the president, judged to be the only way, be considered rebellion?" asserting that the declaration of martial law was a legal measure. He further stated, "The president's exercise of the right to declare martial law is a governing act not subject to judicial review, like the exercise of pardon or diplomatic rights," and criticized the opposition party, saying, "They are wildly dancing with knives, claiming that the declaration of martial law constitutes the crime of rebellion."
Meanwhile, Jung Young-joo, a musical actress, has delivered distinctive performances in popular dramas such as 'Seonjae Upgo Twieo,' which ended in May, and 'Jeongsookhan Sales.' She is currently serving as a special DJ for MBC Standard FM's 'Women's Era with Yang Hee-eun and Kim Il-joong' from the 9th to the 21st of this month, actively engaging for two weeks.
