Buan-gun Receives Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation for 'Youth Job Project'

Positive Feedback on Youth Networking Activation and Startup Support

On the 12th, Buan-gun, Jeonbuk Province announced that it received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for outstanding achievements in the ‘2024 Local Government-Led Youth Job Project.’

This award was given as a result of selecting excellent local governments that contributed to creating youth jobs and sustainable economic revitalization within the region.

The county has been implementing various projects to provide quality jobs and tailored support to local youth. In particular, initiatives such as activating youth networking, supporting youth startups, customized job matching for companies, and educational programs to strengthen employment and entrepreneurship capabilities received high evaluations.

Through these efforts, the county succeeded in achieving the dual goals of reducing youth unemployment and revitalizing business management. From 2021 to 2024, it supported the creation of 46 youth jobs and 30 companies, resulting in 35 youths settling in the region for more than one year. Notably, the county actively pursued administrative measures to serve as a catalyst for youth employment, achieving the highest youth employment rate in the province for three consecutive years (49.1% as of the first half of 2024).

County Governor Kwon Ik-hyun said, “This award is the fruit of joint efforts by the county, local businesses, and youth,” adding, “We will continue to expand various policies and support so that young people can settle and grow stably in the region.”
