Semes, a semiconductor equipment company, announced on the 12th that Shim Sang-pil, former Vice President of Samsung Electronics, has been appointed as the 11th new CEO.
New CEO Shim Sang-pil joined Samsung Electronics in 1988 and has held positions such as Director at the Semiconductor Research Center, Executive Director at the U.S. SAS Corporation, Vice President and Head of the Foundry Manufacturing Technology Center, and Head of Foundry Corporate Planning.
Born in 1965, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Seoul National University and completed his master's and doctoral courses in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
