Organizational Restructuring Plan Passes Assembly... Policy Development and Cooperation Office Abolished
Dong-gu District in Daejeon announced on the 12th that its organizational restructuring plan, designed to proactively respond to population decline due to low birth rates and the risk of regional extinction, has been approved by the council.
The restructuring plan includes abolishing the Policy Development and Cooperation Office, and instead establishing two new departments: the Future Generations Bureau and the Safety and Construction Bureau. Additionally, three new divisions?Population Policy Division, Future Education Division, and Regional Industry Division?will be created, and the Safety City Bureau will be renamed the Urban Housing Bureau.
As a result, the district's organizational structure will change from four bureaus, three offices, and 22 divisions to six bureaus, two offices, and 25 divisions.
With this restructuring, the district expects to enhance administrative efficiency amid the population crisis by strengthening its organizations in the fields of population, education, and economy through more efficient task distribution and personnel reallocation.
Park Heejo, head of Dong-gu District, stated, "This organizational restructuring is an important step to proactively address the national challenges of population decline and regional extinction," adding, "We will swiftly promote key projects focused on childcare and education for the future generations, from infants to youth."
