The meeting was attended by Cheongsong County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee, Festival Promotion Committee Chairman Kim Yang-tae, County Council Chairman Shim Sang-hyu, festival promotion and executive committee members, apple association chairpersons, agricultural organization leaders, and representatives of festival participating organizations. Through the evaluation of the Cheongsong Apple Festival, the current status of the festival was confirmed, and various suggestions and opinions from different fields were gathered to explore ways to develop the festival.

The Daegu University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, which was in charge of evaluating the Cheongsong Apple Festival, analyzed that during the five-day festival period, the average expenditure per person was 126,000 KRW, generating a total direct economic effect of 28.6 billion KRW. Visitor satisfaction was rated an average of 5.93 out of 7 points, indicating a high score.

In particular, satisfaction scores exceeded 6 points in three of the 12 categories: festival enjoyment, programs, and pre-promotion satisfaction. This was attributed to the accumulated know-how from repeated hosting, which stabilized festival program operations, and the newly established festival website this year, which had a significant impact on the satisfaction evaluation through pre-promotion.

Although there were suggestions for festival development such as diversifying festival programs, hosting eco-friendly festivals, and operating regional tourism-linked programs, the overall evaluation was positive, indicating potential for growth in many areas including high resident participation, online festival development, and the introduction of a self-evaluation system. It was concluded that the festival is one of the representative festivals of South Korea.

Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “We will use the diverse insights shared by today’s attendees as a foundation to prepare the 19th Cheongsong Apple Festival more solidly so that it can become a global festival. We ask for continued interest and active participation in the Cheongsong Apple Festival.”
