The publication celebration, held at the end of the year, marked its 40th edition this year. It gathered excellent literary works from literature enthusiasts, local writers, and regional youth who won awards at the Oildo National Writing Contest, fostering pride in Yeongyang Literature. It also served as a foundation for expanding the base of literary artists and revitalizing literary arts.
Simultaneously with the publication celebration, the awards ceremony for the Oildo National Writing Contest was held, where award-winning works by local literary hopefuls and the grand prize literary piece were presented, including poetry recitations. The Literary Night event provided a venue for harmony among local literary figures.
Hwang Tae-jin, President of the Yeongyang Writers' Association, stated, “Literature captures the lives, joys, sorrows, and emotions of people living in its era. I firmly believe that Yeongyang Literature will purify the hearts of its readers and offer excellent nourishment for the mind.”
County Governor Oh Do-chang expressed, “I am grateful to President Hwang and the members of the Yeongyang Writers' Association for their continuous efforts toward the development of Yeongyang literature. I hope that a Nobel Prize in Literature laureate will emerge from Yeongyang in the future. The county will also continue to support the publication of Yeongyang Literature volumes, which have now reached their 40th anniversary.”
