Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 12th that on the 10th, it conducted a 'Sexual Harassment Prevention Education with Citizens' at Uijeongbu Culture Station Eum for the Uijeongbu Branch of the Gyeonggi-do Women's Association Council, Yeouiju Supporters, and the Autonomous Crime Prevention Union.
This education was conducted by inviting Han Myung-hoon, the representative instructor of Athena Research Institute, focusing on movies such as 'Hidden Figures' and 'Aladdin.'
From the perspective of gender equality, the session aimed to enhance gender sensitivity by overcoming gender differences in daily life and observing the proactive behavior of the protagonists.
A citizen said, "Through sexual harassment education using movies, I was able to reflect on the sexual harassment and gender-discriminatory culture present in our daily surroundings and accurately understand the role of citizens within Uijeongbu City's gender-sensitive policies."
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, "I appreciate the citizens who participated in this education, playing an important role in promoting Uijeongbu City's gender-sensitive policies," and added, "We will strive to prevent various sex crimes and eradicate sexual harassment and gender discrimination."
