Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon condemned President Yoon Seok-yeol's statement, saying, "I see the madness of a rebel leader" and expressed that he is "beyond anger, devastated."
On the 12th, Governor Kim posted on his social media (SNS), stating, "(President Yoon) is trying to shift responsibility to his subordinates in preparation for legal disputes," and claimed, "He is relying on the Taegeukgi Unit to divide the country and pollute the public square, attempting to incite extreme chaos."
He added, "I strongly urge the investigative agencies to immediately arrest and isolate him."
Earlier, President Yoon emphasized in a national address that "the exercise of the president's emergency martial law declaration authority is a governing act that is not subject to judicial review, like the exercise of pardon authority or diplomatic authority."
