"Current Projects Must Proceed Smoothly to Prevent Public Anxiety"
On the 11th, Baek Seonghyeon, Mayor of Nonsan City, Chungnam Province, held a meeting on regional and livelihood stabilization measures, expressing concerns over a potential downturn in the domestic market due to the December 3 Martial Law Incident, and ordered the administration to focus its efforts on ensuring regional stability.
Accordingly, the city has organized a Livelihood Stabilization Task Force comprising three teams: the Autonomous Administration Team, the Regional Economy Team, and the Resident Safety Team, with the Deputy Mayor appointed as the head of the task force.
The Autonomous Administration Team is responsible for overseeing the Livelihood Stabilization Task Force, establishing discipline among public officials, and preventing administrative gaps. The Regional Economy Team will support small business owners and work to revitalize the local economy for the stability of ordinary citizens’ livelihoods. The Resident Safety Team will focus on preventing natural disasters such as heavy snowfall and cold waves during the winter, as well as protecting vulnerable groups.
The city plans to proceed with various ongoing projects as originally scheduled and maintain an emergency standby system by establishing a prompt reporting structure to ensure immediate response in case of contingencies.
Additionally, the city will establish an organic cooperation system with relevant agencies such as the police and fire departments to respond swiftly to disasters and accidents, thereby minimizing residents’ anxiety.
Mayor Baek emphasized, “It is a time when all public officials must approach their duties with a strong sense of responsibility,” and urged, “Please unite your efforts to ensure that ongoing projects proceed without setbacks so that the local economy can recover and stabilize, and citizens will not feel anxious.”
