This free supply was carried out for four farms that applied through the corporation's website from November 25 to December 1. Ten tons of autumn leaves collected during the season were supplied free of charge to local farms, allowing the resources to be recycled as compost.
The farms that received the leaves for free expressed their gratitude, saying, "Using autumn leaves as an eco-friendly fertilizer instead of conventional chemical fertilizers has improved crop yields and reduced fertilizer purchase costs."
The corporation decided to continue this project annually by reducing about 1.8 million KRW in waste disposal costs (based on 800 standard 75ℓ waste bags) by supplying leaves collected from places such as the Sports for All Park to farms instead of disposing of them in designated waste bags.
President Lee Heung-gyu stated, "The free supply of autumn leaves is a project that positively impacts both local farms and citizens," and added, "We will continue to do our best in eco-friendly ESG management through resource recycling and make good investments for the citizens of Yangju."
