The first step toward designating the "Chungnam Energy Convergence Complex" has begun in Seosan, Chungnam Province.
The city announced that it hosted the "Chungnam Hydrogen Industry Development Seminar" at Benikea Hotel from the 10th to the 11th.
This event, co-hosted by Chungnam Province and Dankook University, was organized to discuss strategies for fostering the hydrogen industry in the province and strengthening cooperation among institutions, with the goal of achieving the "2025 Energy Convergence Complex Designation" promoted by Chungnam Province.
More than 70 participants attended, including officials from Seosan City, Chungnam Province, energy-related departments of cities and counties within the province, public institutions, and local hydrogen companies, forming a consensus on attracting the energy convergence complex.
First, presentations were given on Chungnam Province and Seosan City's plans to foster the hydrogen industry.

Chungnam Province presented its energy industry development plan, including a hydrogen-based power generation demonstration project to be promoted in cooperation with local companies.
The city explained the background of its selection as the third hydrogen city and introduced plans to establish a specialized hydrogen city in Seosan, focusing on expanding hydrogen mobility, hydrogen fuel cells, and UAM hydrogen charging infrastructure.
In addition, case studies were presented by operators of energy convergence complexes such as Chungbuk TP, and challenges and solutions faced by local companies and public institutions were shared.
It is reported that Chungnam Province plans to identify detailed projects based on this seminar to prepare for the designation of the energy convergence complex.
Han Sangho, the city's Director of Future Strategy, said, "Our city is a region equipped with the foundation to lead the hydrogen economy era," and added, "We will maximize synergy by linking the hydrogen city development project, which will begin in our city next year, with the energy convergence complex."
