2024 Venture and Startup Promotion Merit Award Ceremony Held
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 11th that it held the '2024 Venture and Startup Promotion Merit Awards' ceremony at COEX in Seoul.
The Venture and Startup Promotion Merit Awards ceremony is an event that honors individuals who have contributed to the development of the venture industry and innovative growth. It has been held annually since 1999, marking its 26th year this year. The competition rate was about 16:1 (610 applications submitted for a total of 39 government awards), and the final winners were selected through a rigorous three-stage evaluation process.
At the ceremony, a total of 37 awards were presented, including 2 Silver Tower Industrial Orders, 2 Industrial Service Medals, 16 Presidential Citations, and 17 Prime Minister Citations.

The Silver Tower Industrial Order was awarded to Beom Jin-gyu, CEO of Dream Security, and Kim Chun-sik, CEO of TS Most. The Industrial Service Medal was awarded to Nam Ki-jung, CEO of Dawon Nexview, and Song Eun-gang, CEO of Capstone Partners.
Dream Security received the Silver Tower Industrial Order for its contribution to national development by leading the domestic wireless security solution industry through the development of Korea's first wireless PKI security solution. TS Most was awarded the Silver Tower Industrial Order for successfully domesticating the battery sensor for the first time in Korea and contributing to the revitalization of the electric vehicle industry and the establishment of a stable supply chain by producing busbars, a core component of electric vehicle batteries.
Kim Sung-seop, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, “We pay tribute to the hard work and passion of venture and startup entrepreneurs. In the upcoming Year of the Blue Snake, I ask venture and startup entrepreneurs to take the lead in turning crises into opportunities and achieving new leaps forward.” He added, “The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will work together to ensure that venture and startup companies expand beyond the domestic market to the global market and drive the sustainable growth of our economy.”
