"The plenary vote remains on the 14th"
The Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 11th that it will postpone the submission of the second impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol by one day, and submit it on the 12th.
The Democratic Party's Public Relations Office explained in a notice on the same day, "The submission of the impeachment motion against President Yoon will be postponed to the 12th," and added, "Even if the submission is delayed by one day, the vote will proceed as scheduled on the 14th."
The reason for postponing the submission of the impeachment motion is to include additional content that emerged during the urgent current affairs questioning of the Cabinet members held on that day.
A Democratic Party official stated, "There are many newly revealed details, so we will fully incorporate them and submit the motion on the 12th," and added, "We also plan to include the content that comes out during the urgent current affairs questioning held that day."
The impeachment motion must be put to a vote within 72 hours after being reported to the plenary session of the National Assembly, which must be at least 24 hours after the report. Even if it is submitted on the 12th, it is scheduled to be reported to the plenary session on the 13th and voted on the 14th.
