This “Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign” was organized as a year-end and New Year’s neighbor-helping movement to encourage citizens’ participation in donations. The fundraising target is 500 million KRW, and the campaign will run for 62 days from December 1 to January 31, 2025. For every 1% (5 million KRW) of the target amount raised, the thermometer will rise by one degree, filling Yangju City with a warm donation spirit.

At the unveiling ceremony, about 30 people attended, including Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City, Yoon Chang-chul, Chairperson of the Yangju City Council, Lee Kyung-ah, Head of the Northern Gyeonggi Business Headquarters of the Community Chest of Korea, Chae Jeong-seon, Co-chairperson of the Yangju City Community Security Council, and heads of related local organizations, showing their commitment to actively participate in spreading the culture of sharing.

Additionally, the city introduced a donation platform called the Donation Kiosk, which allows easy donations through small payments using credit/debit cards or mobile pay. Mayor Kang Su-hyun became the first donor and demonstrated the convenience of the donation kiosk, signaling the start of a new donation culture.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, “We installed the Love Thermometer and Donation Kiosk at city hall so that citizens can check the donation status and easily participate in donations,” adding, “The Donation Kiosk is portable and can be used at local event venues, eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers, and more, which will greatly contribute to spreading the donation culture in Yangju City in the future.”

At the unveiling ceremony, a donation delivery ceremony was also held, where The Bed Camp 511, located in Samsong-dong, donated two sets of beds and mattresses. The funds and goods raised through the sharing campaign will be supported through the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea to help solve basic living needs and eliminate blind spots for vulnerable neighbors in the area.
