Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 11th that it has signed an operation consignment agreement for the Gyeonggi Pocheon Public Postpartum Care Center with the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center.
Under the agreement, the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center will manage the operation of the Gyeonggi Pocheon Public Postpartum Care Center for two years, from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026.
Over the past two years, the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center has provided high-quality services to mothers and newborns, contributing to increasing the birth rate and overcoming the low birthrate crisis. The city expects that through the systematic management and support of the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, the Gyeonggi Pocheon Public Postpartum Care Center will be operated efficiently.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “We will cooperate with the Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center to create a birth-friendly environment, improve the childbirth environment within the region, and fulfill the public role in promoting the health of mothers and newborns. Pocheon City will continue to do its best so that more citizens can enjoy a healthy and happy life.”
Meanwhile, since the opening of the Gyeonggi Pocheon Public Postpartum Care Center in May 2023, 434 mothers have used the facility, with an average utilization rate of 103.8%.
