Amidst the economic downturn and difficulties faced by small business owners, Gyeryong City in Chungnam Province announced on the 11th that it will issue 3 billion KRW worth of Gyeryong Love Gift Certificates. This is an increase of 1.5 billion KRW compared to November.
The Gyeryong Love Gift Certificates have a monthly purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per person and can be bought at a 7% discount through the regional gift certificate app 'chak'.
The city expects that if many citizens purchase the gift certificates at a discounted price, it will boost sales for small business owners and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
In addition, through the alleyway business district support project, users can receive incentives worth up to 30,000 KRW when using mobile Gyeryong Love Gift Certificates.
Mayor Lee Eungwoo stated, "We hope that this additional issuance of mobile Gyeryong Love Gift Certificates will help increase the actual income of small business owners and self-employed individuals struggling with the year-end and New Year economic downturn, and revitalize the local economy," adding, "We ask for active participation from citizens in this additional sale of gift certificates and encourage everyone to use local businesses to help overcome the local economic slump."
