The Korea UN Volunteers Association is a corporation established in 1971 with approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade). It has continuously engaged in various social contribution activities based on the three core principles of the UN: world peace, development, and human rights.
The donated items are winter clothing, which are seasonally necessary, and according to the volunteers' wish for a warm winter in the community, they will be delivered to vulnerable groups such as low-income elderly living alone through local social welfare facilities.
Ahn Heon-sik, Chairman of the Korea UN Volunteers Association, said, "This donation started from the members' desire to share a warm year-end with neighbors in need," adding, "We plan to continue various activities that promote a culture of sharing while growing together with the local community."
Baek Kyung-hyun, Mayor of Guri City, said, "Thanks to the Korea UN Volunteers Association's sharing, many people will be able to spend a warm winter," and expressed "infinite gratitude to the Korea UN Volunteers Association for greatly helping to eliminate welfare blind spots within the region."
