Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, achieved excellent results in the regional welfare project evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
On the 11th, Seo-gu announced that it received the ‘Grand Prize’ in the field of regional social security plan implementation results, the ‘Excellence Award’ in the public-private cooperation and resource linkage field, the ‘Merit Award’ in the visiting health and welfare service field, and the ‘Merit Award’ in the integrated medical care support field in this evaluation.
Seo-gu was highly evaluated for actively operating the community social security council as the control tower of public-private cooperation and developing it into the nation’s top-level public-private cooperation model.
In particular, in the field of regional social security plan implementation results, attention was drawn to the establishment of community social security governance together with residents and the promotion of various detailed projects according to changing conditions.
Key examples include operating the ‘Our Neighborhood Neighbor Care Group for Zero Solitary Deaths’ to conduct a full survey of households at risk of solitary death and strengthen customized support, and realizing practical and effective welfare support by matching private resources and areas in need one-to-one through the ‘Public-Private Cooperation 1:1 Coupling Project.’
Additionally, the ‘Family Care Youth Support Network’ was established to provide psychological and economic support to young people who bear the burden of family care alone. Through this, a comprehensive support system linked with the community was prepared, setting a new standard for welfare administration.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “This award is a valuable achievement made possible by the cooperation of residents, administration, and the private sector,” and added, “We will continue to provide welfare services that all residents can feel, creating a welfare Seo-gu without gaps where everyone is happy all year round.”
