Pouring without thermal curing even at minus 10 degrees Celsius... Achieving stable strength and shortening construction time
Obtained Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport construction new technology certification, changing the paradigm of winter construction sites
Sampyo Industry's cold-resistant concrete 'BLUECON WINTER,' the first of its kind developed domestically, is gaining attention as an innovative technology that is changing the paradigm of construction sites during the cold winter season.
Sampyo Industry announced on the 11th that since its commercialization in 2018, the cumulative sales volume of 'BLUECON WINTER' has reached 400,000㎥ (cubic meters) this year. This amount is equivalent to the volume used in about 3,000 households based on the standard 84㎡ unit, known as the national standard apartment size.

After delivering 5,500㎥ last month and starting winter sales this year, BLUECON WINTER recorded a sales volume of 56,000㎥ this month, an 80% increase compared to the same month last year. Considering that severe cold waves are expected to begin in earnest from this month until March next year, significant performance improvement is anticipated this year.
BLUECON WINTER has shown steady sales growth, starting with 13,996㎥ in 2018 when it was first commercialized, 63,447㎥ in 2022, 110,558㎥ last year, and 175,066㎥ this year.
BLUECON WINTER is the only winter-specific concrete in Korea that can be used even when the minimum temperature drops to minus 10 degrees Celsius. At minus 10 degrees, it achieves a compressive strength of 5㎫ (megapascals) within 48 hours of pouring without additional curing or heat treatment, allowing for earlier formwork removal.
One ㎫ is the strength to withstand a load of 10 kg per square centimeter of concrete; the higher the unit, the heavier the weight it can bear. Using BLUECON WINTER enables construction even in severe cold, shortening construction time and ensuring consistent quality. It eliminates the need for devices such as hot air blowers or coal briquettes, which were essential in conventional methods, thereby preventing suffocation accidents, improving building safety, and reducing additional costs and labor due to simplified processes and shorter construction periods.
In July, BLUECON WINTER received the only construction new technology certification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in Korea. Earlier in 2021, it also obtained technical certification from the Korea Concrete Institute, the most prestigious concrete academic organization in Korea. The construction new technology certification is a system that recognizes construction technologies that are either newly developed domestically or improved existing technologies with novelty, advancement, and field applicability.
A Sampyo Industry official said, "Through continuous quality improvement and the development of eco-friendly new technologies, we will not only ensure safety at construction sites but also further strengthen product competitiveness."
