Separately from the fund donation, each affiliate of the group is also conducting employee volunteer activities and various social contribution programs. GS Caltex participated last year as the first private company in the Korea Energy Foundation’s ‘Public-Private Joint Project for Energy Efficiency Improvement’ and pledged to sponsor 10 billion KRW. Additionally, through the energy efficiency improvement project, 1,870 households have been supported so far, and this year, 1,900 beneficiary households will be recruited and supported.

The energy efficiency improvement project reduces greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 0.94 tCO2eq per household annually. With the planned construction for 1,900 households this year, about 1,786 tCO2eq of greenhouse gas reduction is expected. Employee volunteer teams have been launched at various business sites nationwide, including Seoul and Yeosu, to assist with activities such as window replacement and insulation installation on-site.

Since 2009, GS Construction has been conducting kimchi-sharing volunteer activities with the Namchon Foundation, involving GS Construction employees and their families, delivering kimchi to a cumulative total of 20,000 households. This year, 2,472 boxes of kimchi were delivered to childcare centers and residential facilities for children under protection in the Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon areas. From next year, volunteer activities for childcare centers and young adults preparing for independence, attended by employees, will continue.

GS Retail operates with the social contribution direction of a sharing platform in daily life, carrying out activities such as emergency disaster relief, support for socially marginalized groups, and environmental cleanup. Through more than 18,000 offline stores nationwide, including GS25, GS The Fresh, and GS Shop, it leads efforts to assist disaster and emergency sites and socially marginalized groups across the country, supporting and donating over 50,000 items this year alone. Since last month, it has been running the ‘My Own Warm Storage’ campaign through the mobile app ‘Our Neighborhood GS’ as a winter sharing activity for neighbors in need.

In addition, affiliates such as Parnas Hotel, GS EPS, GS E&R, GS Power, GS Global, and GS Sports are also conducting various donation activities, providing diverse cultural experience opportunities, and carrying out scholarship and sharing activities for vulnerable groups.
