According to industry sources on the 10th, the Semiconductor Engineering Society will hold the 'Haedong Semiconductor Engineering Award Ceremony' on the afternoon of the 11th at the Grand Intercontinental Parnas Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

At the ceremony, Vice President Park, one of the key figures in the development of HBM, is scheduled to receive the Haedong Semiconductor Engineering Award for Technology. He was recognized for his core role in securing SK Hynix's position as the 'No. 1 in HBM' by innovating design verification and enhancing product design completeness.

The Haedong Semiconductor Engineering Award is the most prestigious award in the domestic semiconductor field, established according to the will of the late Kim Jeong-sik, chairman of Daeduck Electronics, to contribute to academic and technological advancement through nurturing semiconductor talent.

Previously, SK Hynix spent about four years developing HBM starting in 2009 and released the first HBM to the world in December 2013. Currently, it leads the market by supplying HBM3E (5th generation) to major AI customers such as NVIDIA.

Meanwhile, at the event, the Haedong Semiconductor Engineering Award for Academic Achievement will be presented to Professor Kang Seok-hyung of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology. Lee Yoon-tae, CEO of LX Semicon, will deliver the keynote speech on the theme of 'Another Innovation Beyond Silicon Technology.'
