"Yonggi Gamsa" Flowerpots Delivered One After Another
A wreath of support was delivered to the office of Kim Sang-wook, a People Power Party lawmaker who announced he would vote in favor of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol.
According to Kim Sang-wook's office on the 10th, wreaths and flower pots with supportive messages such as "We support your courage" and "Congratulations and thanks for your principled decision" were delivered one after another in front of Kim's local office located in Sinjeong-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan, that morning. The sender's identity was not clearly confirmed.
Kim posted a photo of the wreaths on social media (SNS), writing, "Many people have sent their support. I will walk the path no one has taken, together with the citizens who encourage and support me. It has become lonely and difficult, but I will walk for the right path."
That morning, Kim held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office and stated, "I support the next impeachment vote against the president who planned an unconstitutional and anti-democratic martial law." He added, "I demand participation in the impeachment of the president who directly violates conservative values," and said, "It is the minimum duty of the ruling party responsible for the wrongdoing to act for the people."
Earlier, on the 7th, Kim refused to boycott the plenary session as per the party line during the impeachment vote against President Yoon submitted to the National Assembly and participated in the vote. However, he cast a dissenting vote according to the party line. Following this, on the 9th, some party members visited Kim's office to protest, saying "Impeachment is out of the question."
Meanwhile, the second impeachment vote against President Yoon in the National Assembly is scheduled for the 14th.
