Former Minister Park: "My Son Is Also a Special Forces Veteran"
Former Minister of SMEs and Startups Park Young-sun criticized President Yoon's emergency martial law situation, saying it "deserves divine punishment."
On the 10th, Park posted on her social media (SNS), "The Special Forces berets are appearing one after another in the news, and I see tears in the eyes of those who are known as South Korea's elite units," adding, "Who made them like this?" She pointed out that President Yoon, his close aides, and military commanders have caused the current situation.
As a mother of a son who completed his military service in the Special Forces, Park said, "The beret that my son proudly showed me when he came home on his first leave is now shaking," and added, "If such an incident had happened while my son was in the military, how anxious would I have been?" She continued, "What words of comfort should I offer to the parents who have sons in the Special Forces and to the Special Forces soldiers who must be heartbroken?"
She then criticized, "From Lee Myung-bak's BBK scandal to Yoon Seok-yeol's emergency martial law, they never learn from their mistakes," and said, "They deserve divine punishment."
Park is a four-term lawmaker who served as a minister during the Moon Jae-in administration. In April, she was also mentioned as a potential candidate for the next Prime Minister under the Yoon Seok-yeol government.
