FuturePlay announced on the 10th that, as the main operator of the ‘2024 Public-Private Cooperation IP Strategy Support Project CIPO Program’ organized by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korea Invention Promotion Association, it provided optimized IP (intellectual property) strategies to participating companies and achieved results including three awards at the Korea Invention Patent Exhibition and one award at the Venture Startup Patent Awards.

FuturePlay, Successful Operation of CIPO... Startup Companies' IP Achievements

The CIPO program is a model in which the private sector and government cooperate to support startups with IP-related strategies and funding. It discovers promising IP-based entrepreneurs and enables private investment institutions to act as CIPO to support IP-centered growth.

FuturePlay collaborated with five startups participating in the CIPO program (Seoul Robotics, Proxy Healthcare, Add, Hydroexpand, iPin Labs) to provide services tailored to each company’s growth stage and goals. Key support included IP analysis, PoC (Proof of Concept) development, and strengthening technology reliability, among various strategic approaches. Through this, they achieved excellent award results such as ▲Seoul Robotics (Korean Intellectual Property Office Commissioner Award at the Korea Invention Patent Exhibition) ▲Add (Korean Patent Attorneys Association President Award) ▲Hydroexpand (Chamber of Commerce President Award) ▲Proxy Healthcare (Venture Startup Patent Award Excellence Prize).

In particular, FuturePlay, as the only accelerator among the main operators of the CIPO program, provided support tailored to the companies’ growth stages and goals, offering customized solutions in various areas such as IP risk analysis, market environment analysis, and IPO preparation. Lee Jeong-min, CTO of Add participating in the program, stated, “The CIPO program is a program that effectively combines essential resources and support for company growth, as well as systematic establishment of technology development and business strategy,” adding, “Through this program, we were able to secure IP-based competitiveness and clarify the direction of our business.”

Jeon Gyeong-jin, IP Manager at FuturePlay, said, “FuturePlay will continue to monitor the performance of participating companies and provide follow-up support to quickly respond to changing market environments,” and added, “We will actively support startup teams’ IP-centered growth to ensure that support tailored to startups’ needs leads to actual results.”
