Dankook University Also Issues National Statement... "Yoon Suk-yeol Undermines Korea's Status Built by Its People"

Dankook University students have joined the national declaration movement calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol.

On the 10th, 1,500 members of the Dankook University Student National Declaration Group stated in their declaration at the Cheonan campus, "The proclamation of martial law by Yoon Suk-yeol on December 3 was a scene where the democracy we built with our blood was collapsing, and it was an act of betraying the very foundation of the nation. The status of Korea, built by its people, has been destroyed by Yoon Suk-yeol."

They continued, "The Republic of Korea is a nation governed by the rule of law, and no one is above the law. Ironically, however, Yoon Suk-yeol, who should serve the people as president, is acting against the people. Anyone who points a gun at the people alongside martial law troops cannot be called a president," they criticized.

They further emphasized, "Former Minister Kim Yong-hyun tried to justify martial law with his remarks about 'a single-minded devotion to saving the nation.' Yoon Suk-yeol stepping down from his position, apologizing to the people, and standing trial with the other main instigators of the rebellion will be the true act of devotion to saving the nation permitted to you."
