Hanam-si Selects 5 Outstanding Public Officials for Active Administration in the Second Half of the Year

Hanam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) announced on the 10th that it held the ‘2nd Active Administration Committee of 2024’ at the city hall situation room on the 9th and selected five outstanding public officials for active administration (1 grand prize, 2 excellence awards, 2 encouragement awards).

The Active Administration Committee is an event that selects and encourages Hanam City public officials who have contributed to improving the quality of life of citizens through breaking away from existing practices and practicing proactive and active administration. In the ‘1st Active Administration Committee of 2024’ held in June, five outstanding public officials were also awarded.

The selection of outstanding public officials was finally decided through a presentation evaluation at the Active Administration Committee, which included external civilian members, after a practical evaluation team review and a citizen preference survey via VoteHanam, based on 18 active administration cases recommended by citizens and departments.

The grand prize was awarded to ‘Proactive response including conditional financing for the Han River Bridge (tentatively named Suseokdaegyo) city-provincial route (Construction Division Team Leader Woo Young-ho).’ This was highly evaluated for proactively and leadingly proposing measures to minimize traffic damage caused by the establishment of the tentatively named Suseokdaegyo Bridge, one of Hanam City’s major issues, to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Gyeonggi Province, and LH, thereby preemptively reducing traffic inconveniences citizens would experience.

The excellence awards went to △ “New cash flows seen through financial transaction information: Tracking and collecting hidden assets using delinquent taxpayers’ financial transaction information” (Tax Management Division Officer Yoo Jae-hoon), △ “1-minute Loess Road” (Park and Greenery Division Team Leader Jung Don-young), and the encouragement awards went to △ “Resolving the large character public exhibition at Misa Lake Park through integrated consultation of intertwined multi-department tasks!” (Public Relations Officer Jo Jae-woo), △ “Misa 1-dong Miss Z environmental cleanup activity” (Misa 1-dong Officer Kim Dong-min).

Hanam City plans to produce webtoons and card news based on the outstanding cases selected at this Active Administration Committee, post them on the internal network to disseminate to all employees, and promote them nationwide to cities, counties, and districts through the city website and SNS postings.

Mayor Lee Hyun-jae of Hanam City said, “We will do our best to prepare various preferential measures that can raise the pride and morale of public officials and encourage employees to practice active administration. Through this, we will make further efforts to spread an active administration organizational culture that citizens can feel.”

Meanwhile, Hanam City was selected as an excellent institution for the first time in the ‘2024 Local Government Active Administration Comprehensive Evaluation (2023 performance).’
