Seosan City Selected as an Excellent Case for Neulbom School... Wins Minister of the Interior and Safety Award

Selected Under the Theme 'Sunrise Neulbom, Haebom'... Secures 100 Million Won in National Funding

Seosan City in Chungnam announced that it has been selected as an excellent case in the ‘Local Government Neulbom School Cooperation and Collaboration Contest Project’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and has received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.

This contest project was established to discover and spread cases of regional specialized Neulbom School cooperation models tailored to local conditions and demands, with participation from local governments, universities, and the private sector.

In addition to evaluating the outstanding achievements of Neulbom School, the assessment also included cases of planning with high feasibility and potential for expansion.

Neulbom School, introduced in elementary schools nationwide this year, is a comprehensive educational program outside of regular classes that connects various educational resources from schools and the local community.

In the planning section, the city submitted the Haebom Center, themed ‘Haetneun Neulbom, Haebom,’ as a case, and after passing the first document screening and the second in-person evaluation, secured the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award and a special grant of 100 million KRW.

The Haebom Center, which will serve as a hub for Seosan Neulbom and care services, is scheduled to open in September 2025 at 233-4 Dongmundong, providing 24/7 care services all year round.

Mayor Lee Wan-seop said, “This award recognizes Seosan’s efforts and achievements in educational development,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to become a top-tier educational city through close cooperation with related organizations such as the Seosan Office of Education.”
