Gyeonggi Province will significantly expand the 'Anytime Care' service next year, which provides child care at the time and place parents want.
The 'Elementary School Facility-Type Emergency Care,' which connects children aged 6 to 12 who need care during weekday nights and holidays to nearby Dahamkke Care Centers and local child centers, was introduced in July this year and is currently operating in 14 cities and counties. Next year, it will expand to 21 cities and counties.
The 'Anytime Daycare,' which has been providing services at 5 locations in 5 cities and counties since June, will also expand to 11 locations in 10 cities and counties next year. This service allows parents of infants and young children aged 6 months to 7 years who are not yet in school to leave their children temporarily or in emergency situations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The usage fee is 3,000 KRW per hour.
The family care allowance, which was implemented in 13 cities and counties this year, will increase to 21 cities and counties next year. This program supports grandparents and relatives within the fourth degree of kinship who care for children aged 24 to 48 months with a monthly payment of 300,000 to 600,000 KRW per child. As of the end of last month, 3,933 households have been selected.
The 'Child Care Opportunity Income,' which provides up to 200,000 KRW per person per month for up to five people participating in child care through village community groups such as local resident meetings, will also be expanded next year. This is the first official recognition of care activities by self-sustaining village communities and has been in effect since July, with 96 groups applying.
In addition, Gyeonggi Province’s child care services such as support for personal expenses for child care services and support for children’s happiness meals during school vacations will also see increases in both the number of beneficiaries and the amount of support.
