Won Seong-yeon, who was selected for the outstanding grade, resolved the chronic illegal dumping problem by continuously communicating and consulting with residents, changing the separation disposal locations, and supporting the installation of recycling stations (separation collection points).

Kim Jun-sik was selected as outstanding for his achievement in transforming a space that had been damaged in appearance due to an illegally occupied facility (illegal badminton court) left unattended on the walking trail in Gaewoonsan Neighborhood Park into a ‘Summer Scent Garden’ that the whole family can enjoy.

Seol Jae-hong contributed to creating a birth-friendly community where the joy of childbirth is shared by the region by fostering positive perceptions of childbirth through sponsorship connections with local small businesses, delivering congratulatory messages to newborns, and various promotional activities addressing the serious low birthrate issue. As a result, a total of 67 households with newborns benefited. Additionally, he was selected as outstanding for promoting and revitalizing the use of local small business sponsor stores and expanding the Aijoa sponsor stores.

The district plans to award the selected outstanding public officials with the Mayor’s Commendation and provide personnel incentives such as the highest grade of performance pay (outstanding) and special leave (encouragement) according to their grade.

The district received recommendations for outstanding active administration cases and outstanding public officials from all departments (dong) and residents, and conducted a comprehensive evaluation through the first round of departmental working meetings, the second round of employee and resident voting, and the third round of final review by the Seongbuk-gu Active Administration Committee, considering factors such as resident impact, the officer’s proactiveness, creativity, expertise, the importance and difficulty of the task, and potential for dissemination.

This second half active administration outstanding case contest received more cases than before. A district official emphasized, “This is a very desirable change as the awareness of active administration among Seongbuk-gu public officials and the active administration public service culture are being established.” The district responded to the interest and participation of Seongbuk-gu public officials by expanding the scale of rewards beyond the original plan to maintain this active administration public service culture.

Mayor Lee Seung-ro said, “We will continue to prepare preferential measures for Seongbuk-gu public officials who carry out active administration that residents empathize with and are satisfied with,” and added, “Ultimately, we will strive ceaselessly to create a happier Seongbuk together through the establishment of an active administration public service culture.”
