LG Electronics Revamps 'LG XBOOM' with Musician Will.i.am

LG Electronics is revamping its wireless audio brand 'LG XBOOM' in collaboration with world-renowned musician will.i.am. The existing wireless earphone brand 'Tone Free' will be included under LG XBOOM, expanding it into a lifestyle audio brand.

On the 10th, LG Electronics announced that will.i.am has been assigned the role of 'new experience design' for LG XBOOM and will help redefine the sound and design identity. will.i.am will design the sound direction of LG XBOOM audio products and work on acoustic tuning.

will.i.am said, "Together with LG XBOOM, we will deliver a completely new level of musical experience that combines the latest technology with creative culture."

LG XBOOM offers two modes based on the direction of "rich bass-based smooth and harmonious sound": an exciting mode that becomes more enjoyable the more you listen, and a comfortable and soft mode for long listening sessions.

will.i.am will also participate in design work, introducing features such as lighting that can be changed to match the mood and a strap design that fits comfortably in one hand.

In the future, LG XBOOM wireless speakers will provide the AI-based radio app 'RAiDiO.FYI' created by will.i.am. Through AI analysis, customers can listen to radio broadcasts including news and music tailored to their preferences, and the AI will respond when customers ask related questions.

Lee Jung-seok, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Electronics’ Audio Business, said, "Together with will.i.am, we will newly establish the brand identity of LG XBOOM and evolve the customer's 'joy of listening' to a higher level."

LG Electronics plans to showcase new LG XBOOM products and technologies with will.i.am at CES 2025, the world’s largest electronics and IT exhibition, held in Las Vegas, USA, in January next year. The new products unveiled at CES will be released sequentially starting with the wireless earphones 'XBOOM Buds' in January next year.

XBOOM Buds are made using advanced new material graphene, which is lighter than a feather and stronger than steel. They feature active noise cancellation (ANC) to block surrounding noise. Synergy with the ultra-light premium laptop LG Gram is also enhanced, making it easy to connect the two products.

LG Electronics will begin pre-orders for XBOOM Buds on its domestic online brand shop starting from the 16th. The domestic retail price is 139,000 KRW.
