Encouraging Volunteers Under the Theme "Volunteers' Helping Hands Bring Warmth to Guri-si"
The Guri City Volunteer Center (Chairman Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 9th that it held the ‘2024 Guri City Volunteer Day Ceremony’ on the 7th at the Guri City Hall auditorium, with the participation of over 500 volunteers.

Under the theme “The Hands of Volunteers Bring Warmth to Guri City,” the event was organized to express gratitude and encouragement to volunteers who have devoted themselves in the field throughout the year.
The ceremony proceeded in the following order: ▲2024 Volunteer Activity Report ▲Presentation of Certificates by Volunteer Hours ▲Awards for Outstanding Volunteers and Groups ▲Awards for Outstanding Demand Organizations and Managers ▲Commemorative and Congratulatory Speeches ▲Volunteer Activity Case Presentations ▲Cultural Performances.
Notably, 785 volunteers received certificates for 15,000, 10,000, and 5,000 volunteer hours. In addition, 65 volunteers, 10 volunteer organizations, and 5 volunteer demand organizations were awarded commendations including the Prime Minister’s Award at the Korea Volunteer Awards, as well as awards from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Governor of Gyeonggi Province, and the Mayor of Guri.
Following the awards ceremony, the event concluded with congratulatory performances by bassist Ham Seok-heon and pianist Jo Jeong-min, offering comfort to the volunteers.
Chairman Baek Kyung-hyun said, “I would like to express my gratitude to all volunteers who extended warm hands to share warmth with the local community throughout the year. Congratulations to the award recipients, and I hope you continue to care for marginalized neighbors so that love may fill our society.”
Meanwhile, the Guri City Volunteer Center plans to carry out various projects in the upcoming 2025 new year to create “Volunteering Inspires Change, Happier Guri City.”
