The newly completed facility spans 343㎡ and was established based on a community environmental improvement fund of 1.2 billion KRW, designated as a donation by SK Hynix to the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest, with the city providing the land. The facility is operated through a self-support project. It manufactures special reusable containers made of materials that can be used multiple times instead of disposable containers, and rents them out for use at local festivals, funeral homes, offices, and more. The used containers undergo a sterilization and cleaning process before being reused. The city explained that this project is characterized as a social virtuous cycle business that simultaneously promotes environmental protection and job creation by providing employment opportunities to vulnerable groups through the self-support project during the operation process.

Attending the completion ceremony were Eom Jin-seop, Deputy Mayor of Icheon City; Park Ho-hyun, Vice President of SK Hynix; Jo In-hee, Director of the Icheon Regional Self-Support Center; Hong Seung-pyo, Vice Chairman of the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest; and local residents.

Park Ho-hyun, Vice President of SK Hynix, said, "It is meaningful that the reusable container system can lead to tangible changes that the local community can feel," adding, "We will continue to meet the local community through ongoing support and cooperation."

Deputy Mayor Eom Jin-seop stated, "With the completion of this facility, we have laid the foundation to achieve two goals simultaneously: environmental protection and community development," and added, "We will work together to create a city that cares for both low-income groups and the environment."
