Specialized Training Conducted to Strengthen Practical Skills of Resident Autonomy Committee Members
Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 9th that it held the 2024 Resident Autonomy Academy on the 6th at the Guri City Hall auditorium for about 260 people, including resident autonomy committee members from 8 neighborhoods and staff in charge of resident autonomy, to strengthen practical capabilities in resident autonomy.

The event proceeded with an opening ceremony, lectures, and a survey. The education was conducted by Kang Jeong-mo, director of the Citizen Education Content Research Institute, covering specialized topics on the significance of resident autonomy and understanding the field of resident autonomy activities, which elicited positive responses from both new and existing committee members.
Kim Seok-jung, chairman of the Guri City Resident Autonomy Council, stated, “It was a beneficial lecture that helped Guri City resident autonomy committee members strengthen practical skills to successfully carry out various autonomous projects, and I am grateful to Guri City for providing such an opportunity.”
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City expressed, “I would like to thank the resident autonomy committee members who attended the training despite their busy schedules. I hope that this training will serve as a stepping stone to further develop resident autonomy in Guri City into an active form of resident autonomy that creates ‘Joyful Change, Happier Guri City.’”
