Guri-si Expands Pre-Notification Service for Comprehensive Vehicle Inspections

The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 9th that it will expand the 'Comprehensive Vehicle Inspection Pre-Notification Service,' which sends advance notice by mail one month before the vehicle inspection expiration date, starting in 2025.

According to the city, previously, the pre-notification was provided only to applicants, but from next year, it will be sent to all vehicle owners residing in Guri.

Vehicle owners must have their vehicles inspected within 31 days before or after the inspection expiration date, and if this period is exceeded, a fine of up to 600,000 KRW will be imposed.

Accordingly, the city plans to provide the pre-notification service to all vehicle owners to reduce situations where citizens miss the inspection deadline and have to pay fines.

In addition, the pre-notification letter will include a QR code linking to the Korea Transportation Safety Authority's mobile service, allowing convenient subscription to related text alert services.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “Vehicle inspection is an important legal obligation that protects citizens' lives and property, but many citizens have missed it due to busy daily lives and were fined. We hope that the expansion of this pre-notification service will help protect citizens' safety while reducing their economic burden.”

The city will continue to prioritize citizens' convenience in improving administrative services and support the establishment of an efficient vehicle management culture.
