Volunteer Group 'Sarangnanumi' in Guri City Receives Awards for Outstanding Volunteer Organizations and Individuals

Commended for Contributions to Health Center Visit Health Management Project Collaboration Activities

Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 9th that it awarded a commendation for volunteer service to the volunteer group Sarangnanumi (President Song Jeong-ae), which helps manage the health of elderly people in vulnerable groups, at the 2024 Volunteer Day ceremony held on the 7th.

The event was held to commemorate Volunteer Day and recognize the contributions of organizations and citizens who take the lead in community service based on the spirit of loving neighbors, aiming to spread a culture of volunteer participation.

The Sarangnanumi volunteer group received the honor for their active participation in various volunteer activities since 2005, in connection with the Guri City Public Health Center’s home health care project, providing emotional support such as welfare checks and companionship for isolated elderly people, as well as supporting holiday meals during Chuseok and kimchi for kimjang.

Song Jeong-ae, president of Sarangnanumi, said, “We are grateful that the volunteer group award has once again boosted the morale and sense of fulfillment of Sarangnanumi volunteers,” adding, “In 2025, we will do our best to be a volunteer group that becomes friends to elderly people in vulnerable groups so they do not feel lonely, watches over those around them, and provides help.”
