"Did You Attend the Protest?"... Man Asking at Restaurant Suddenly Takes Out Wallet

"Thank You for Joining the Protest"
Men Who Paid Instead of Covering Meal Costs Gain Attention
"I Will Become a 'Real Adult' Like These Gentlemen"

On the 7th, a large-scale rally calling for the resignation of President Yoon Seok-yeol was held in front of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul. Amid this, a netizen shared a story about how another guest paid for their meal, saying, "Thank you for participating in the protest."

On the 8th, X (formerly Twitter) user A shared a drawing depicting an experience they had after attending the rally the previous day. According to the story, A and their group visited a restaurant selling chicken dishes to warm up after the rally ended. While waiting for a seat due to the crowd, some male diners asked them, "Did you come from the protest?" A replied "Yes," but explained they were worried about hearing comments like "What are young people doing?"

However, the men responded unexpectedly. They said, "We went to the protest too. We left a bit early because we were angry," and added, "We appreciate the young students. We're grateful for your participation, so we'll pay for your meal." Surprised, A and their group politely declined, but the men insisted, saying, "No, we really appreciate you. We also feel sorry," and "We've already eaten, so please sit here. We adults feel embarrassed and sorry. Choose whatever you want to eat." Eventually, they paid for A's group's meal and left the restaurant. A concluded the post by saying, "Thank you, sir. I will remember this feeling and become a 'real adult' like you."

Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "There are still many warm-hearted people in the world," "Truly a good adult," "I want to be that kind of person too," and "Even though the weather is cold, it's nice to hear heartwarming news."

Earlier that day, the rally reportedly gathered 100,000 people according to police estimates as of 4:30 PM, and 1 million according to the organizers. At the National Assembly, a vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon was held, but most members of the People Power Party left without participating in the vote, resulting in a failure due to a lack of the required quorum (200 members). Currently, the Democratic Party is reportedly considering reintroducing the impeachment motion every week.
