Exploring New Policy Models and Support Securing Measures
Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 9th that it held a childcare forum on the 6th at the Wisdom Forest Conference Room in Paju Publishing Complex under the theme of "Exploring New Policy Models and Support Securing Measures to Overcome the Low Birthrate Crisis."

Hosted by the Paju City Childcare Comprehensive Support Center, this forum was organized to review childcare trends and policies in the era of low birthrate and to seek reasonable childcare policy measures reflecting Paju City's mid- to long-term childcare development plans and regional characteristics.
On the day, childcare stakeholders including directors of local daycare centers gathered to explore a new Paju-type hub daycare center model and directions for revitalizing daycare centers.
Professor Kim Ik-gyun of the Department of Childcare at Hyupsung University served as the chair, and keynote lectures were delivered by Professor Kim Sang-ok of the Department of Welfare Management at Soongsil University and Kim Young-hwa, Director of the Paju City Childcare Comprehensive Support Center, on the topics of "Childcare Trends and Policies in the Low Birthrate Era" and "Exploring Reasonable Measures Reflecting Paju City's 2nd Mid- to Long-term Childcare Development and Regional Characteristics," respectively.
Following this, in the panel discussion, Choi Seon-su, Policy Division Head of the Paju City Daycare Center Association; Jeong Ye-jin, Teacher at Haenara Daycare Center; Yeom Ha-young, Chairperson of the Operations Committee at the Municipal Seonyu 3 Complex Daycare Center; Lee Ki-yong, Legal Advisor of the Paju City Daycare Center Association; and Kim Ji-hee, Childcare Management Team Leader of Paju City’s Childcare and Child Department, discussed various aspects of policy models and support securing measures to overcome the low birthrate crisis.
Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju City stated, “I hope this forum was not only a place to seek childcare development measures but also a platform to prepare policies that provide a qualitatively happy nurturing environment for our future infants and toddlers and a hopeful key to parenting for parents, ultimately finding ways to make Paju a better city to raise children in an excellent environment.”
