The Democratic Party of Korea has announced that it will reintroduce the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol and put it to a vote on the 14th, drawing attention to the 'Impeachment Challenge' shared by Lee Jae-myung, the party leader.

On the evening of the 8th at 11 PM, Lee posted a video on his Instagram account showing three women dancing to the famous carol 'Feliz Navidad.' The lyrics were rewritten to the tune with the phrase 'Impeachment is the answer.' The lyrics included lines such as "President Yoon Seok-yeol must disappear for a Merry Christmas," "Mrs. Kim Geon-hee must be punished for a Merry Christmas," and "Impeachment is the answer for our survival." The video was tagged with hashtags like '#ImpeachmentChallenge,' '#ImpeachmentCarol,' '#YoonSeokYeolImpeachment,' and '#CandlelightRally.'

As of 7 AM on the 9th, the video posted by Lee had been viewed over 322,000 times on Instagram and received more than 22,000 likes. Netizens who saw the video commented, "Lawmakers should take on the challenge too," "The choreography is intense; can the lawmakers handle it?" "They are bold lawmakers, so please dance once," "It's an age to think about joints," "The lyrics are really catchy," "Impeachment is a Christmas gift," and "Santa Claus, please this year."

Earlier, on the 7th, the National Assembly put the impeachment motion against President Yoon to a vote, but the ruling party, which opposes impeachment as its official stance, walked out of the plenary session, causing the vote to fail. To pressure the handling of the impeachment motion against President Yoon, the Democratic Party introduced a 'salami impeachment' tactic. Kang Yoo-jung, the Democratic Party floor spokesperson, told reporters after a party meeting at the National Assembly on the 8th, "We will report the impeachment motion against President Yoon to the plenary session on the 12th and hold a vote on the 14th." She added, "The impeachment push against President Yoon will continue on a schedule of 'Thursdays and Saturdays.'" This plan involves reporting to the National Assembly plenary session every Thursday and holding votes on Saturdays.
