Earlier, on the night of the 3rd, President Yoon declared martial law, and on the 7th, he issued a national address apologizing, saying, “This declaration of martial law stemmed from the desperation of the president as the ultimate person responsible for state affairs,” and “I deeply regret causing anxiety and inconvenience to the people during this process.”

Subsequently, the National Assembly put forward an impeachment motion against the president for a vote, but the vote failed to proceed as members of the People Power Party collectively boycotted, resulting in a lack of the required quorum of two-thirds of the total members (200 out of 300) for the motion to pass.

In response, British journalist Piers Morgan shared news from the UK’s Sky Sports on his social media on the 7th (local time), reporting on President Yoon’s address and the failed impeachment vote in South Korea.

He then added, “This Clown Needs To Resign Immediately,” strongly criticizing President Yoon.

Morgan has served as editor for British media outlets such as the Daily Mirror and works as a commentator and broadcaster between the UK and the US. He has also been a judge on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”

He is well known as a TV host for his sharp and outspoken remarks, which have often embroiled him in controversy. He was even fired from his news presenter position after harshly criticizing Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.

One of his notable incidents includes an interview with Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr). A passionate fan of Ronaldo, Morgan invited him to a TV talk show in November 2022, allowing Ronaldo, who was then with Manchester United, to openly criticize the club and then-manager Erik ten Hag.

Ultimately, the remarks sparked controversy, leading to Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United despite having remaining contract time.
